How to Present Price to a Dollar Buyer

A dollar buyer doesn't just compare price: they compare total cost and return. Present it right and price stops being an objection. Here's the frame — backed by HOMIA's calculators.

Speak their currency (but state the official one)

Show the price in USD (and CAD for Canadians) so they get it, but clarify the official price is in pesos and use a daily exchange rate. Transparency = trust.

Add the total cost, not just the price

  • Closing costs: ~5–7% of price (paid by the buyer).
  • Fideicomiso: one-time setup + annual bank fee.
  • Present it YOURSELF first — so there are no surprises that kill the deal at the end.

For the investor: show the return

If they buy to rent, the price is justified with numbers: yield, ADR and occupancy by zone. Move from 'it's expensive' to 'how fast it pays for itself'.

Tip: recording at the true value (no under-declaring) protects your client from an inflated tax at resale. Tell them — you look like an advisor, not a salesperson.
